The Main Squeeze
The Main Squeeze
Seamlessly blending funk, soul and rock ‘n’ roll, The Main Squeeze promises to keep your body moving with their infectious, feel-good musical gumbo. The Chicago-based band has been winning fans over with their unique musical blend since their formation a few years ago.

Ben “Smiley” Silverstein (keys) and Max Newman (guitar), the two founding members of The Main Squeeze, first began writing music together after meeting at a sleepaway camp in upstate New York. The two then went on to study in Bloomington, Indiana, where they formed The Main Squeeze during the summer of 2010. Now based in Chicago, The Main Squeeze is completed by frontman Corey Frye, drummer Reuben Gingrich and bassist Rob Walker.

In the five years since the band’s inception, The Main Squeeze has attracted a remarkably loyal and ever growing national fan base. The rabid following is no surprise as the band boasts a unique sound that is equal parts soul, funk and rock ‘n’ roll - think Stevie Wonder meets Red Hot Chili Peppers. Further, their high-energy live shows that showcase each member’s virtuosic talent -- with soulful vocals, intricate jams, tight grooves and powerful solos -- always leave their audiences awestruck.

The Main Squeeze has released two albums – an EP entitled First Drops and a self-titled sophomore effort that met with great acclaim. In addition, the band placed first at the International Jazz and Blues Competition in Macau, China, put their stamp on the Rolling Stone Super Bowl XLVI Pre-Party and graced the stages at some of the country’s biggest music festivals, including Bonnaroo, High Sierra, Electric Forest, North Coast, Phases of the Moon, Summer Camp and Gathering of The Vibes, among many others.

Ron Holloway Bio:
Ron Holloway is one of the busiest tenor saxophonists on today's music scene, in any genre!

Ron was a member of Root Boy Slim & the Sex Change Band from the summer of 1977 until the summer of 1987. As a member of Gil Scott-Heron's Amnesia Express Band, Holloway traveled throughout Europe and the United States from February 1982 until the summer of 1989. In June 1989, Holloway joined world renowned trumpeter, Dizzy Gillespie's Quintet and remained until Gillespie passed, in January 1993.

Ron was a member of the Susan Tedeschi Band from November 2005 until November 2009.

In 2011, as a member of the Warren Haynes Band, Ron toured internationally in support of two critically acclaimed releases on the Stax Records label.

Throughout the past decade, Holloway has been a frequent guest of Gov't Mule, Tedeschi and Trucks Band, The Allman Brothers Band, Little Feat, Taj Mahal, Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Widespread Panic.

Since 2014, audiences have been filling music venues to see Holloway's latest project: A high energy, sax-driven funk machine called The Ron Holloway Band!

Roosevelt Collier Bio:
Soft-spoken by nature, South Florida-bred Roosevelt Collier does his hollering on the pedal steel guitar. Brought up in the "sacred steel" tradition of the House of God Church, Roosevelt built his reputation alongside his uncles and cousins in The Lee Boys, known for their spirited, soul-shaking live performances. Seated front and center, "The Dr." leaves an indelible mark on listeners, flooring audiences with his lightning-fast slide work on the pedal steel. At festivals, he is a regular "Artist at Large," performing alongside many of music's most prestigious acts, from the Allman Brothers, to Los Lobos to the Del McCoury Band. No matter what the context, when Roosevelt takes the stage the ear-to-ear grins can't help but be contagious.
