Neville Jacobs
Neville Jacobs
A tour de force of veteran musicians collaborating to create an original sound that appeals to ears from all of life's callings.

Fronted by Ivan Neville and Cris Jacobs and backed by one of the most sought-after rhythm dream teams, Tony Hall and Brady Blade, Neville Jacobs is a special collaboration that defies musical boundaries to organically produce some of the most notable new music 2015 has to offer.

Both fate and instincts led Cris Jacobs to collaborate with Ivan Neville. Aside from Jacobs listening to The Neville Brothers growing up and nearly a decade of causal sit ins with one another, Cris Jacobs and Ivan Neville truly connected at the poker table. Playing cards allowed them to relate on a different level away from the hustle and bustle of working musician life.

In the poker room and off the suggestion from producer and fellow card player, Joe Michaels, Neville and Cris Jacobs hit it off, took the prospect of collaborating to heart, and hit the studio in late 2012.

Neville notes that the end product of Neville Jacobs has no preconceived sound because it limits the possibilities. Both Neville and Jacobs brought songs to the table and more often than not, one would start making noise, another would riff off of it, and songs would be born. Both artists took to the studio with a “let’s see what happens” mentality and thusly created “not a solid project, but a f*cking great project!” according to Neville.

Prestige and prowess aside, the music of Neville Jacobs speaks for itself. The group is eager to see where the project takes them and to get the music heard by as many people as possible. Neville Jacobs has become a truly organic collaboration with the music taking form out of what feels natural and evolving into an honest, feel-good collection of songs.

Ivan Neville
Very few people have the musical clout of Ivan Neville. Born into one of the most-recognized and visionary musical families in history, Neville took to keyboards, bass, and guitar at an early age performing with his father (Aaron) and uncles (Art, Charles, and Cyrill) in The Neville Brothers during his teens.

This no-nonsense musical upbringing led him to move to Los Angeles and apply his demanding musical dexterity to writing, performing, and recording music with powerhouses such as Bonnie Raitt, The Rolling Stones, Keith Richards, Rufus, Spin Doctors and countless others. Since 2003, Neville has been entrenched with his musical brainchild, Dumpstaphunk, whose down and dirty New Orleans funk has become a staple in the national festival circuit and features the heavy rhythm section of Tony Hall and Nick Daniels III (basses); his cousin, Ian Neville (guitar), and Alvin Ford Jr. (formerly Nikki Glaspie) on drums. The group has been hailed as “The best funk band from New Orleans right now” by the New York Times.

Cris Jacobs
If there’s one thing to note about Cris Jacobs, it’s that he is not afraid to roll with the punches, see where life leads him and take a gamble on what he believes in. After a successful run with award-winning road warriors, The Bridge, Jacobs decided his next course of action would be to delve into a solo career. Since 2012, he has been on support tours with the likes of Steve Winwood and Sturgill Simpson as well as recorded a full-length album (Songs for Cats and Dogs) with another one on the way.

Tony Hall
When it comes to a bassist who can do it all, Tony Hall is the man for the job.

Hall’s insatiable groove and confidence make bass lines and harmonic interpretation an “automatic” act for him. Rather than succinctly explain what he is doing or trying to break it down and analyze it, Hall just gets down to business and does what comes most naturally to him. It’s this approach that’s landed him work with Dave Matthews, Trey Anastasio, Harry Connick Jr., Jewel, Emmy Lou Harris and beyond.

His album credits are anthologies within themselves and his diverse body of his work is unparalleled.

When it comes to Neville Jacobs, the addition of Hall was another element that was “automatic.” Aside from a long-standing relationship with Neville in Dumpstaphunk and beyond, Hall and drummer, Brady Blade, have a long history and are the epitome of a magnum opus rhythm section.

Brady Blade
Time and time again, you hear the phrase, “you can’t do it all.” In Brady Blade’s case, he shatters that notion and is a jack of all trades as both a performer and in many facets of the music industry.

Blade, alongside Neville Jacobs rhythmic counterpart, Tony Hall, is known for his work with top artists such as Dave Matthews & Friends, Emmy Lou Harris and Jewel.

Blade founded Blade Studios along side partner Scott Crompton and engineer Chris Bell in 2009 and is also the founder of record label, Brick Top Recordings LLC. Much of his work in recent years includes writing and production and he has a natural craft for developing song-writing and producing, which was one of his key roles in Neville Jacobs

There are many outstanding Blues Artists calling Florida home but only a few of them can be called legendary. IKO IKO has achieved their legendary status over and over again. The band is best known for their thirty year association with Miami's seminal Blues venue TOBACCO ROAD awarding them the title "Miami"s House Band" sharing the stage with literally every working Blues artist in America from 1982 to the present.. From Albert Collins, John Lee Hooker,to Sun Ra and David Bromberg the list goes on and on. IKO IKO provided back up for Willie Dixon, Bo Diddley, Ron Wood, Bobby Keys and a host of others. IKO IKO even worked with fellow Floridian Jimmy Buffett on his musical ,"Don't stop the carnival."

When the state of Florida put together a concert to pay homage to its homegrown musical talent including Lynrd Sknyrd, Sam and Dave, and Marva Wright just to name a few, IKO IKO was hired to provide musical support for all the acts. In 1987 IKO-IKO released their first album on King Snake Records "Snowstorm in the Jungle" featurning lable mate Lucky Peterson on keyboards, reaching number 11 on the American Blues Charts. This record was followed by "Riding on the Rims"' :Protected By Voodoo"' and "Shine." IKO-IKO's latest CD is a best of compilation of Graham Wood Drout's songs entitled "Bullets in the Bon Fire Vol. I" including two songs recorded by IKO-IKO and good friend Albert Castiglia. A tribute album of Graham Wood Drout's songs recorded by a host of Florida Blues Bands is being released in the Spring of 2015.

Graham Wood Drout's IKO-IKO "A must see!"- Rock and Roll Road Trip, Rolling Stone Magazine . The San Diego Tribune describes IKO IKO as "An eclectic mix of southern musical traditions." The band calls it Urban Swamp Music: a swirling mix of Blues, Mardi Gras , Gulf Coast Americana, jazz, jam band sensibilities, Rock and Roll music with a Bo Diddley beat, steller musicianship and the award winning song craft of Graham Wood Drout. Graham's songs have been a favorite of AAA radio and the satelite stations. His tunes have been covered by IBC Blues winner Joey Gilmore (who credits Graham's "Ghosts of Mississippi" for putting him over the top. Ghosts of Mississippi went on to win the 2008 Blues Critics Award for song of the year.) and Ruff Records guitar slinger Albert Castiglia who scored a hit with the fabulous Mr. D's "Big Toe." Albert's latest recording "Solid Ground,(which has reached number 10 on the Billoard Magazine Blues charts) features three of Drout's songs. "Craig Rusky of Delta Snake Magazine says, "As a songwriter Drout is a powerful master." Ed Ivy of Blues Revue Magazine says, "This songwriting is on the order of Gordon Lightfoot or Jim Croce....great and emotionally complete." Patrick O'Donnell of Blues On Stage writes, "Graham is an artist in every sense of the word."

Over the years IKO-IKO has played in literally hundreds of venues from The Green Parrot in Key West to the Molson Canadian Jazz and Blues Festival in Toronto.
