John Carey
John Carey is enjoying a musical path that has become a fulfilling cultural journey on three different Continents. In the New Orleans scene, John produced and performed in many events all over the Crescent City.

Some of the weekly staples were the "John Carey Blues Summit" at Rock & Bowl, "John Carey Blues Party" at Hard Rock Café and the "John Carey Blues Revue" at the House of Blues. John received an honor of merit from the Louisiana Music Commission for his efforts in keeping the Blues alive and well in New Orleans.

Carey's first New Orleans release, "Hot For Louisiana", featured his funky rhythmic harp playing with such notable backing musicians as George Porter Jr. (Meters), and the Memphis Horns. The tune “People You Love”, from Hot For Louisiana, is also included on the Louisiana Red Hot Records compilation: Blues – The Language Of New Orleans.

Blues Revue Magazine said, "Like Dr. John, Carey splits his musical time between classic Crescent City boogie and contemporary funk-blues, often combining the two with good results!”.

On his latest release, Back In New Orleans, John is joined by Piano Bob Wilder and a cast of New Orleans best Musicians. Over the years he has shared the stage with Grammy Award winning Artist such as Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, James Cotton, Bo Diddley, Levon Helm, Charlie Musselwhite, Alan Toussaint, Cyril Neville and many more. Although John's time spent in New Orleans had proven to be prosperous.

Taos New Mexico was another place where his heart and soul resonated. His Taos projects have included the live recording on Big Headed Kid Records, “John Carey and the Bluebird Rodeo Live at the OBL”, from that CD, the song “Taos Moon” was featured on the Revolution Records compilation CD, “Songs of New Mexico”.

John's song, “Soul of the South West”, that is a tribute to Taos, was featured on the national radio program “America Tonight with Kate Delaney”. John’s second NM CD release was a blues duo called “Crossroads” with Taos blues guitar legend Cullen Winter.

Other Taosenos John has played and recorded with are Taos Pueblo Drummer & Singer Blue Spruce Standing Deer and Native American Grammy Award winners, David and Greta Carson. John's song, “Corazon Roto”, was featured in the award winning film “El Cochero”. He has also written and produced music for the lead dancer of the Martha Graham Dance Co, Carrie Elmore.

Recently John was a feature artist on award winning Radio Jazz 88.3 Blues Jam in San Diego, California. His harmonica wizardry has earned him an endorsement with Peavey Electronics and Lee Oskar Harmonicas.

John is currently Performing in Southern California and splitting his time as an international artist recording and performing live music in South America (Venezuela & Chile), Central America {Costa Rica}, Europe (Germany) and touring the United States.
